La Table du Marché

Next to the covered market (which is worth visiting) on the corner of the square. The chef explains that “my whole childhood is reflected in my kitchen” which we love.

A varied cuisine in a beautiful building on the quay of the Dordogne river, you can either sit on the terrace overlooking the river, or in the inner courtyard or inside.

The most affordable lunchtime menu du jour you’ll find anywhere, this very popular restaurant is in a gorgeous village with good walks.

Nestled in the vineyards of Verdots this restaurant is overseen by Thierry Marx, the chef of the 3 Michelin-starred Jules Vernes restaurant in the Eiffel Tower. Owned by an Icelandic billionaire, Norah Jones is also an investor.

A beautiful restaurant with a big terrace in Issigeac, serving traditional French food. If you’re going to the Sunday morning market, maybe book in for lunch here.

The food is as stunning as the garden dining terrace or the inside dining room – it’s no wonder that it’s Michelin starred. Go for the midweek lunch ‘menu éphémère’ which is 7 course tasting menu, more affordable than the à la carte menu.

It’s not close-by, but it’s in a Plus Beaux Village and drive past Roque St. Christophe on the way there. The food is stunning, gorgeous, interesting and not typically French – Nick the chef is from New Zealand and his German wife Sina is the sommelier. Michelin-starred.
