A truly magical place, hidden among the trees, in a haven of green. The house is both large and cozy. Every room is full of its original charm whilst offering the comfort of a top quality renovation. True attention to detail, every piece of furniture has been carefully chosen, the bedding, linens etc are excellent, the decoration is very tasteful. There is an aura of a family home which makes you immediately feel at ease without being overbearing. The kitchen is very well equipped and full of charm with its huge chimney. The terrace and pool area are lovely and super practical with kids to keep watching over them. Great area with lots to do and visit if you can bear to leave the property! We had a fantastic stay, would definitely recommend.

We had a wonderful family stay in the woods. The castle is absolutely pristine, and the quality of everything inside was genuinely a lovely surprise, especially for a rental property. The kitchen appliances, utensils and facilities were all top quality, and it really felt like every detail had been thoughtfully considered. We felt incredibly well cared for by the host, who was attentive and welcoming without being intrusive. We had a thoroughly peaceful week, enjoying beautiful walks through the woods to the local village and down to the river. A truly special place to stay — peaceful, beautifully maintained and with everything you could possibly need. We would absolutely love to return!

A fantastic oasis of calm, set amongst an ancient woodland. The hosts were fantastic and responsive. The decor of the house was incredibly well done, both modern and respectful of the period of the property. The kids loved the pool, which was reassuring deep for their jumping and games, with areas to sit with it. The village a short walk down the road, has a fantastic pizza restaurant and takeaway, the butchers is also worth a visit! Definitely will return and explore the surroundings further!

Stunning Chateau meticulously refurbished by designer Guy & the gorgeous Ariarne in the middle of a forest. Peaceful, relaxed, understated luxury. Heavenly swimming pool & sunbeds to relax on, forest for walks & to explore and incredible food obviously in the nearby market or walkable restaurant in a neighbouring Chateaux. You can be assured of comfy clean beds, sheets, towels…what’s not to like!

What an incredible experience to stay in such a beautifully restored, charming and grand chateau! We loved relaxing on the stunning pool terrace and walking the trails in the lush, peaceful forest surrounds (great for birders too! – Golden Oriole, Black Woodpecker, European Nightjar, Tawny Owl all seen close to the house). ‘Apéro’ on the terrace at 5 o’clock every evening with gourmet finds from local markets became an instant tradition. We loved the exploring the surrounds, so many little towns with local markets and antique shops to explore – Issigeac markets (black truffle! pickled garlic! canélé!), Jardin de Marqueyssac, Limeuil were among our favorites. We spent a wonderful relaxing day canoeing down the Dordogne, an unforgettable memory. And such comfortable big beds, we slept so well every night. The chateau owners are such a lovely, genuine couple and made sure we had a wonderful relaxing holiday, you will be in safe hands!
